It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done this recipe but I still think about how good it was so I had to share. The roux sauce is creamy and is the perfect complement to the turkey meatballs. Below is the pizza before baking.

Update 4/27/13: I have re-categorized! View the new Giada at Home: STYLE page. I just saw the Happy Holidays episode which is #3 in Season 5. I’ve definitely noticed a few changes in her decor. I love the little rainbow drawing on the back wall. Perhaps from Jade? The Chilewich Ray Tray that held all her produce has been replaced by a beautiful ceramic white four-tiered stand. As always, if any of you viewers spot items, feel free to post in the comments! The shelf above the window is a bit more whimsical and fully blue-toned whereas she started out Season 1 in green. I immediately noticed these beautiful glass candy dishes that are like mini versions of apothecary jars. The round shape makes them unique. Giada brings Hawaii to L.A. in a tiki-themed episode complete with an actual tiki bar, orchid leis and a menu that included delicious looking tilapia fish tacos with avocado and mango. I love this curved pitcher. Read more → My favorite kind of reading…from a cookbook. Giada de Laurentiis came out with a new book, Giada at Home and I tried out the Pasta Ponza. It’s light and refreshing with tomato as the main ingredient, but also comforting and satisfying with the addition of the bread crumb topping, reminiscent of a cold weather casserole recipe. The bread crumb topping and Parmesan seeps into the corkscrew ridges, making every bite flavorful. On a recent episode of Giada at Home, Giada de Laurentiis did a play on a classic childhood PB & J and turned it into a cookie. Yes a peanut butter cookie with jam has been done before, but her addition of cocoa powder adds a whole new dimension. It’s fudgy, rich, chocolatey and the ULTIMATE cookie with a glass of milk. Sorry Oreos these chocolate peanut butter cookies are my new go-to. Heavenly first bite which starts off chocolatey but unexpectedly you hit creamy the peanut butter flavor and lastly a hint of tang from the jam center. |
