This post is one of many documenting my week in Paris, a present to myself for graduating pastry school in the fall of 2012. Every moment was spent eating and one post wasn’t enough. It’s now a short novel. Kidding. I hope.
I’m having major Paris withdrawal since returning less than 24 hours ago. So here we go, a Paris-inspired ORANGE post to celebrate the Giants World Series win #2 since I missed the entire thing as I was busily stuffing my face with pastries.
“Napolean Noir,” Laduree’s gorgeous black box with an intricate gold trim. According to refinery29, they put together a special limited edition box for Halloween in the New York shop that has a macaron with orange passion fruit filling.
Or perhaps, make your own box with their current flavors, blood orange ginger or licorice. Apparently the French love licorice flavor and insisted upon my trying the flavor.
The ultimate orange item, the highly coveted Hermes Birkin Bag. This classic color was not on display in the shop but I did find a gray croc version in the window for a mere 125,000 euros.
How hard is it to get something in the pretty orange box? It turns out all I can afford was the set of four pencil set for 66 euros. There is a book section at the store and I saw the adorable book, Paris versus New York and for a second I thought maybe that would at least get me an orange bag. I flaked at the last moment.
Goyard St Louis Shoulder Bag
On the more affordable side, a Longchamp long handle tote in orange.
More sweets of course. A Gerard Mulot creation.
Perhaps I should exercise to work off the dessert by biking along the Seine river. She makes it look so easy to do in a skirt.
