My favorite kind of reading…from a cookbook. Giada de Laurentiis came out with a new book, Giada at Home and I tried out the Pasta Ponza. It’s light and refreshing with tomato as the main ingredient, but also comforting and satisfying with the addition of the bread crumb topping, reminiscent of a cold weather casserole [...]

I had a great meal to kick off the 2010. The day after New Year’s I had a family meal at Michael Chiarello’s Bottega. My first visit was back in July and I got to taste the summer menu. I thought it was time for some heartier selections off his winter menu.

One of the reasons I love the movie is because of the gorgeous visuals of Paris and the highlight of the movie, at least for me, the ratatouille scene. The attention and care put into layering each vegetable slice into the baking dish was [...]

After reading the review from Michael Bauer from the SF Chronicle, I knew I had to try Bottega, Michael Chiarello’s restaurant in Napa Valley. I’ve always been a huge fan of his cooking and though sadly no new episodes are being taped, Easy Entertaining on Food Network is still a favorite. But what really sealed the [...]

Another sunny day, perfect for a BBQ, and celebrating Father’s Day. I was trying to keep it simple and not get overly ambitious with too many dishes and yet somehow still spent 3 hours prepping and grilling. Isn’t it worth it though for good food? The menu was All American and it somehow worked out [...]
